Before I was a photographer, I was in culinary school. I wanted to be a chef. I loved cooking. I still love cooking. Obviously, I changed career paths and went into photography. I love photography! I’m so fortunate to do what I do. Then, recently, a friend of mine launched a company that was focused on getting affordable, healthy food options to…well…everybody. There were other options out there but they just didn’t quite do it right. He not only wanted to put healthy food into peoples mouths, he wanted to help people learn WHY they needed to eat the food they were enjoying. Enter me. I got the wonderful opportunity to help him as he launched his idea and take some photos of food! Food! I loved this! Both of my words colliding together! This was so great. What follows here are a series of some of my favorites. Please. If you live in Washington, DC, check out Sooma. They have wonderful options (the carnitas tacos are my personal favorite). Make tonight a Sooma night!

As 2017 rolls in I wanted to share one of the last weddings I shot in 2016. Traci & Patrick are the sweetest people on earth! Their concern for you and others is overwhelming and inspiring. I loved being around them and having the opportunity to share their big day with them! They’ve also done some serious traveling which I’m quite jealous of! I was pumped when I found out they wanted to do their engagement shoot at one of my favorite parks in Washington, DC – Meridian Hill Park! I lived across from this iconic DC spot for a year or so. Some wonderful memories came rushing back when we shot there! I knew right away we were going to have fun 🙂

As I was going back through this one more time I couldn’t help but smile and remember how much fun these two had. Thanks again guys for sharing this day with all of us! Congrats!

Traci and Patrick got married at the Hendry House in Arlington, VA (great venue!)

Fall engagements. I have to say, they’re probably my favorite. Fall is the best time of year (if you ask me) and it’s so beautiful outside. The crispness in the air…anyways. This was a great session. I really like these guys and, of course, Mika, their Corgi-Austrailian Shepard mix, is adorable and so well behaved. Kayla and Anthony are naturals. They said they were nervous but it didn’t show! They were so comfortable with each other it made my job easy. I’m super excited to hang with them next year when they tie the knot. Thanks guys! You were rad!
